About AIA

AIA-WV represents nearly 300 American Institute of Architects members – registered architects, interns, associate and affiliate members – working in West Virginia. Through its continuing education system, AIA is committed to the lifelong learning of its members in an effort to improve society through a dedication to design excellence and a concern for the quality of human life.

Since 1857, AIA has served as the leading professional membership organization for licensed architects and our emerging professionals – the voice of the architecture profession. Based in Washington, D.C., we’re more than 90,000 members strong.

AIA West Virginia offers continuing education courses to its members throughout the year via five chapter meetings and monthly “Lunch and Learns” gatherings. One especially important chapter meeting is held every March in conjunction with the two-day WV Construction and Design Exposition – WV EXPO – at the Charleston Civic Center.

Our Annual Design Awards Gala and Scholarship Benefit is held in April each year where we proudly honor excellence in architecture in West Virginia from the past year and celebrate the scholarship recipients who grow our proud profession.
