AIA WV Celebrates Architecture Week
Virtual and Classrooms across the state
Architecture Week celebrates the profession of architecture and invites everyone—especially K–12 students—to explore architecture and design. It highlights the impact architects have on our communities while inspiring the next generation of designers, thinkers, and problem-solvers.
Architecture shapes the places where we live, learn, and gather. During Architecture Week, students are encouraged to look at the built environment with fresh eyes and discover how thoughtful design influences everyday life.
Architects, educators, and community leaders all play a role in introducing young people to the possibilities within architecture and design as we work together to build the pipeline of future architects.
Virtual Architecture Read-Alouds -It’s never too early to start thinking like an architect.
As part of the national celebration of Architecture Week, classrooms and families are invited to participate in a series of virtual read-alouds with architecture and design children’s book authors. Each session features a live reading followed by a short Q&A where students can ask questions about design, creativity, and the built environment.
These engaging sessions are a wonderful way to introduce younger students to the ideas behind architecture and the importance of design in everyday life.
